About your photo shoot
Here is a little information about how your session would go.
Before the shoot
Location is important, but even more important to creating your portraits are the people that are in them. I love getting to know you and your family before your session! We can chat over the phone or email, whichever is easiest for you.
I'll send you information on how to prepare for the shoot including tips on what to wear and prop ideas. I always bring a selection with me so we can play around with whatever you'd like to include.
Home-based shoots
Home sessions tend to be more intimate and personal. No bright lights, flashes, forced poses or smiles are used; the result - beautiful, natural images that capture the true personality of your child. I'll come to your house at the agreed time and spend 1-2 hours photographing your baby or child doing what they do best - being themself in the comfort of their own home. Motherhood has taught me patience so if your baby needs soothing or feeding that's fine. I always ensure the child's needs come first.
Outdoor shoots
Richmond has a unique blend of beautiful natural settings so I also offer outdoor shoots for older babies and children. Whether you want your child photographed in Richmond Park, Hampton Court or Marble Hill Park just let me know! I'm always looking for new places for shoots so am open to your suggestions. A game of hide and seek is always a good ice-breaker and I'll snap away for 1-2 hours as your child plays in the beautiful natural setting.
After the shoot
Once the shoot is over I work on each individual image in a digital darkroom to ensure dirty noses and mouths are clean and any other artistic enhancements that you'd expect from a professional photographer including black and white copies.
I'll also work on a range of storyboards that include a selection of images from the shoot. If you need birth announcement cards I'll rush through a selection of key images but the post-production process normally takes up to 2 weeks. Don't worry though - I'll send you a little sneak peak through just to keep you going!
Once ready, your images will be displayed on a private online gallery, from which you can pick and choose the images you want to have as prints, canvases or digitally on a CD.
